SUMMARY:Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts
DESCRIPTION:The Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts (CWW) is an internationally recognized event to share and engage in the latest science\, focused on better understanding the risk of wind energy to wildlife and developing solutions to avoid\, minimize\, and offset the ecological impacts of wind farms\, both onshore and offshore. The event also encourages researchers\,  conservation scientists\, federal and state officials\, NGO representatives and wind industry professionals that have experience of finding innovative and efficient solutions to these environmental concerns to work together and share knowledge. It also looks into the opportunities to enhance nature when developing wind farms. This all promotes a collaborative approach to resolving the key issues faced at wind farms. \nThe conference takes place every two years and attracts a global audience. So far\, there have been five CWW events since the inaugural meeting in Norway in 2011\, followed by Sweden in 2013\, Germany in 2015\, Portugal in 2017 and Scotland in 2019. \nThe 6th Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts 2022 (CWW 2022) is taking place in Egmond aan Zee\, the Netherlands\, 4-8 April 2022. \nExperts on the impacts and opportunities of wind energy on wildlife from across the globe will come together at the conference Hotel Zuiderduin to share their knowledge in a series of keynote talks\, sessions and workshops. Field trips to onshore and offshore wind farms will give the opportunity to see and discuss solutions in practice for this fast-growing industry. \nLocated in the dunes of the small and cozy coastal village of Egmond aan Zee\, with the first Dutch offshore wind farm as a backdrop\, Hotel Zuiderduin offers an inspiring setting for the conference. \nThe meeting is organized and presented by Bureau Waardenburg\, working as an independent research and advice consultancy working in the fields of ecology\, nature\, the environment and landscape design since 40 years.
