SUMMARY:22nd Wind & Solar Integration Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We welcome you to the 22nd Wind & Solar Integration Workshop in Copenhagen\, Denmark. In close cooperation with the Technical University of Denmark – DTU\, the Workshop will be held on DTU’s Lyngby campus on 26–28 September 2023. \n\nAbout the Workshop\n\n\n\nSince its first edition in 2000\, the primary objective of the Wind & Solar Integration Workshop (then “International Workshop on Feasibility of HVDC Transmission Networks for Offshore Wind Farms”) has been to stimulate interdisciplinary thinkingbetween industry and academia by providing a platform for discussion and for sharing ideas and knowledge regarding the key issues in the field of large-scale grid integration of renewable energies. \nFrom 2011 to 2021\, the Wind Integration Workshop has been conducted back to back with the Solar & Storage Integration Workshop. In 2022\, the two Workshops merged to the Wind & Solar Integration Workshop (including such topics as Sector Coupling\, Storage and Hydrogen) to take into account the many possible synergies and to meet the wishes of the participants. \nThe workshop will be held together with the 7th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium in Copenhagen as part of the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week on 25 September 2023. \n\n\n\n\n\nTopics of the Workshop \n\n\n\nDue to the current rapid development in this field and the numerous papers that were presented under this topic at the 2022 Wind & Solar Integration Workshop\, the topic of hydrogen will play an important part again at this year’s Wind & Solar Integration Workshop. For this reason\, some hydrogen topics are proposed for the Call for Papers 2023. \n\n\n\nNew Topics: \n\n\n\n\n\nFuel Cell Modelling/Fuel Cell Systems Modelling \n\n\n\nElectrolyzer Modelling \n\n\n\nHydrogen Systems Modelling \n\n\n\nRenewable Hydrogen Technologies and Applications \n\n\n\n\nDecarbonization of transport with green hydrogen \n\n\n\nDecarbonizing the industrial processes \n\n\n\nEnergy system management with hydrogen \n\n\n\n\n\nYou can find a complete list of topics on the Call for Papers page! \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Powering up Europe: Unlocking Ireland's oshore wind potential to help achieve EU climate targets
DESCRIPTION:The recent energy crisis has placed even more urgency on the need to decarbonise our economy and accelerate the generation of homegrown\, clean energy. The oshore wind potential of Ireland is vast\, and may likely surpass Ireland’s own energy demands over time. This means that this Irish natural resource could be of great significance to Europe\, so long as the right infrastructure and market plans are in place. How can the potential of this strategic EU resource be unlocked?\n\nIn addition to MEP Seán Kelly\, confirmed speakers are: \n\nAmbassador Barbara Cullinane – Ireland\nStefano Grassi – Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Simson\nAlistair Phillips-Davies – CEO\, SSE\nSonya Twohig – Secretary General ENTSO-E\nKristian Ruby – Secretary General Eurelectric
