A recent study conducted by H-BLIX shows that with a local content ratio of 25%, the development and construction of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of approx. 1 GW, associated with an investment of just over 10 billion PLN, can create a total of over 4 thousand jobs. Raising the local content to 45-50 (for second wave projects according to the Polish Offshore Wind Sector Deal) will double that number, creating nearly 4,700 jobs in the offshore wind energy sector and its supply chain alone, the Linkedin post reads.
According to the “Energy Policy of Poland until 2040”, one of the strategic and priority directions is worth approx. PLN 130 billion investment program to build offshore wind farms in Poland. It will create from approx. 8 to 11 GW of installed capacity in the Polish exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea by 2040. It will have a huge impact on the power generation capacity structure and the development of the transmission network. It will also allow Poland to meet its climate and environmental targets for RES sources and CO2 emissions reduction.
