On 29-30 November 2021 the Embassy of Denmark in Lithuania will host the Conference “Offshore industry in the eastern part of the Baltic Sea: get ready for business” and listen to the experts from Lithuania and Denmark.

Speakers included Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Mr Dan Jørgensen, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Energy Ms Daiva Garbaliauskaite, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Transport and Communication Mrs Loreta Maskalioviene, Director of the Lithuanian Energy Agency Mr Virgilijus Poderys, Director General of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Mr Algis Latakas, CEO of Esbjerg Port Mr Dennis Jul Pedersen, Chief Adviser of Centre for Global Cooperation at the Danish Energy Agency Ms Charlotte Boesen and many business leaders from both- Denmark and Lithuania

Offshore wind is expanding worldwide as an essential element in securing sustainable energy resources and reducing green gas emissions. Klaipeda port plays a significant role in bridging the exchange of cargo and goods between Eastern and Western Europe. Soon this traditional role will be expanding, as Lithuania will announce a first offshore wind park project development tender in 2023. This booming offshore business will have an impact on business development, investments, employment, competences, and infrastructure in general. It will require a sting of new services, competencies and industries, which could help ensuring economic growth and prosperity for Klaipeda port and Klaipeda region. The upcoming conference will focus on the investment plans, the green and blue business opportunities and the possibilities for regional partnerships. We hope it will provide a good platform for the exchange of best practices and will create new business opportunities for both countries.
