On the 9th of December 2022, Polish Minister of Infrastructure granted in its entirety Bureau Veritas’ application to be included in the list of recognized organizations, authorized to carry out certification of offshore wind farms, in accordance with the Polish Law on Maritime Safety Act (Journal of Laws 2011 N 228 item 1368, consolidated text Journal of Laws 2022 item 515, 1604, 2185). This considers Bureau Veritas’ previous commitment and professional contribution in supporting their customers in the offshore wind industry worldwide.

This is an important step in building of highly specialized competencies and relationships for projects of the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone (Polish EEZ) within the Baltic Sea, whose potential is estimated to exceed 30 GW of capacity.

This recognition would not have been possible without significant contribution and long-standing experience of Bureau Veritas’ technical teams in Poland, France and Germany, supported by the involvement of our legal partner specializing in the marine & offshore industry – Baltic Lawyers.

Development of offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea is one of the key undertakings in Poland’s energy transformation and decarbonization strategy – Poland could become a leader in the development of this sector in the Baltic Sea region.
