CONFERENCE ‘COMPETENCIES FOR OFFSHORE WIND’
May 17, 2023
About the Conference
The attainment of global, European and Polish offshore wind ambitions is largely conditioned by the availability of qualified personnel. The offshore wind sector in Europe will create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the next decade. Also in Polish offshore wind thousands of jobs from a wide spectrum professions will be available in the oncoming years.
- Will relevant professionals be available in the job market?
- How can Poland benefit from the international experience in developing competencies for offshore wind?
- Is the education system ready to provide adequate competencies for the dynamic sector?
These compelling questions will be addressed during the ‘Competencies for Offshore Wind’ conference. The conference will serve as a discussion forum for the offshore wind and education communities on the provision of qualified personnel for the long-term development of the offshore wind sector.
Honorary patronage
- Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit, DSc, Phd, FRIN, FNI, Master Mariner
- Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship
Participants
The ‘Competencies for Offshore Wind’ conference will be attended by representatives of offshore wind industry, local authorities, universities, training centres, vocational schools and other stakeholders. As the competency challenge is faced by offshore wind worldwide, we expect the outcomes of the conference, including good practices of sector and academic leaders, to constitute a significant voice in this debate.
