Baltic Industrial Group and CRIST shipyard from Gdynia have begun building a consortium that will offer, among other things, modern, fully equipped transformer stations for offshore wind power (OWE). The partners also want to cooperate in other areas of the offshore industry and in the shipbuilding sector. The companies’ cooperation will create an efficient supply chain for the offshore sector and increase the participation of Polish companies in the ambitious goals of offshore wind development in Poland and abroad.

The cooperation agreement between the Baltic Industrial Group (GPB) and CRIST will allow the connection of the competence, resources and experience of both partners. Among the tasks of the emerging consortium will be the joint development and marketing of technologically advanced products to serve the offshore wind power, offshore and shipbuilding industries. Among other things, the companies want to jointly develop and market a transformer substation for offshore wind farms, offering fully equipped and turnkey products that meet the highest quality standards. The parties emphasize that the consortium will operate on a partnership basis, aiming to be as involved as possible in the implementation of Polish OWE projects, which will contribute to strengthening the national economy and provide the consortium members with favorable conditions for development.

Among other things, it is taking part in the construction of the largest underwater tunnel that will connect Denmark with Germany. The link will consist of a highway and a railroad, covering an 18-kilometer tunnel that will enable faster and safer travel between Scandinavia and Europe.
