The rapid development of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea is transforming Pomerania into one of Poland’s key renewable energy hubs and skills development is a crucial part of this growth.

Against this backdrop, Centrum Nowych Kompetencji (CNK), supported by regional public institutions, is offering fully funded, pilot training programmes focused on logistics for offshore wind and port operations. Financed by the Krajowy Plan Odbudowy, these free courses are a strong example of how public-sector cooperation with business supports workforce development aligned with real market needs.

This momentum is clearly visible in ongoing strategic investments. In Gdańsk, construction of the T5 offshore installation terminal, a key facility for the Baltica 2 project, has reached an advanced stage. The terminal will support the installation of 107 offshore wind turbines from 2027 and is set to serve the offshore wind sector for at least the next 10–15 years, strengthening port infrastructure and the region’s role in the Baltic offshore ecosystem. At the same time, a newly established RelyOn (PL) training centre for offshore and renewable energy professionals is being launched in the Tricity area, responding to the growing demand for highly qualified specialists in the offshore wind sector.

By combining practical training, modern technologies and close collaboration between institutions and industry, Pomerania shows strong intent in developing the infrastructure but even more the people who will shape the future of offshore wind.
