Baltic Industrial Group (GPB) has announced its new development strategy for 2025-2035, setting a clear direction for its contribution to the energy transformation of Poland and the region. The strategy, approved by the Industrial Development Agency, continues CG GPB’s transformation to date towards a modern industry of the future.
Strategic directions: offshore wind energy, nuclear energy and smart solutions for the maritime economy
The main areas on which CG GPB’s new strategy focuses are:
- Offshore wind energy.
- Nuclear energy.
- Smart maritime solutions.
- Ambitious goals and strategic shifts
According to the new strategy, CG GPB plans that up to 70% of the Group’s revenue in the coming years will come from the offshore wind sector. The Group is setting its sights on significantly strengthening its competences and developing its own product offering, moving from supplying structures alone to offering complete end products. CG GPB is aiming for a Tier-1 position, i.e. a direct industrial partner for investors, moving beyond the role of subcontractor.
Inclusion in the national strategy and diversification
The company emphasises that its strategy is in line with the Polish offshore wind industry development strategy, being a key element supporting the country’s energy transition objectives. CG GPB is also pursuing a diversification strategy, with a strong focus on entering the growing nuclear power sector.
– The new strategy is a milestone for any company. Our strategy is structured in such a way that it not only shows what we want to do, but also how we want to achieve our business goals – stressed CEO Adam Kowalski. He also pointed out that the company is strengthening the integration of its companies, implementing modern management standards and introducing uniform corporate governance principles and transparent decision-making processes.
– The GPB Capital Group fits perfectly with the assumptions of the Polish offshore wind industry development strategy, being a systemic asset of the State Treasury ready to implement its key elements. GPB’s strategy focuses on competence development, investment in modern infrastructure and building export potential – exactly where national competitive advantages are needed today – noted Maciej Mierzwiński, CEO of CEE Energy Group.
The companies in the IDA portfolio in Pomerania are two major assets that are beginning to play a key role in Poland’s energy transition. We, as the owner, support the activities of the Baltic Industrial Group and Baltic Tower in this process, adds Ilona Deręgowska, Vice-President of Industrial Development Agency S.A.
The Baltic Industrial Group was established to integrate subsidiaries operating in the energy and shipbuilding markets, building on the rich history and heritage of the Polish shipbuilding industry, dating back to the 19th century.
