A big day for Poland’s energy transition: Today, 17 December 2025, marks the start of the first historic auction for Polish offshore wind farms (OWF) in the Baltic Sea! The energy sector is holding its breath – in this round, investors are competing for the right to support projects with a total capacity of 4 GW, which is set to fundamentally change the national energy mix.
Latest update from the President of the Energy Regulatory Office
The President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) has updated the announcement of auction AMFW/1/2025, thus finalising all administrative procedures just before its start. This update took into account changes resulting from the October amendment to the so-called IMF Act, which came into force on 27 November this year. The key issue was to clarify the maximum total installed capacity for individual grid connection points.
Despite the formal adjustments, the key date remained unchanged.
