- A lease agreement for an installation terminal was concluded between Ocean Winds and ORLEN Neptun II, a company belonging to the ORLEN Group.
- Ocean Winds will begin using the installation terminal in the port of Świnoujście in 2027 – the port will be used year-round for the purposes of the BC-Wind project.
Świnoujście, June 10, 2025: Ocean Winds, a global offshore wind energy company formed as a 50-50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, has signed a lease agreement for an installation terminal in the port of Świnoujście with ORLEN Neptun II, a company from the Orlen Neptun portfolio. The ceremonial signing of the agreement took place during the PSEW2025 conference in Świnoujście, on the main stage of the event, with the participation of Kacper Kostrzewa, Managing Director of Ocean Winds Polska, and Janusz Bil, President of the Management Board of ORLEN Neptun.
Under the agreement, Ocean Winds will use the terminal in the port of Świnoujście from 2027. The terminal will be used for the storage and loading of monopile foundations, which are the basic component of the offshore wind farm infrastructure. The BC-Wind farm is located approximately 150 nautical miles, or about 228 kilometers, from the port of Świnoujście, making the port a convenient logistics point for the project.
The port of Świnoujście is the first in Poland and one of the most modern offshore wind installation terminals in Europe, designed to handle the largest jack-up and heavy-lift vessels. The integrated functionality of the terminal, combining the features of an installation and marshalling port, makes it a strategic point on the map of offshore wind energy development in the Baltic Sea region.

- – “In the location analysis process, we considered ports throughout the Baltic Sea region. Ultimately, the port of Świnoujście was chosen for its excellent technical infrastructure, deep fairway, transport accessibility, and readiness to handle the largest installation vessels. This investment meets the highest standards and perfectly fits the needs of our BC-Wind project” – said Kacper Kostrzewa, Managing Director of Ocean Winds Polska.
- – “The high parameters of our terminal make it attractive to European offshore wind farm operators. In the coming years, it will be one of the few installation ports in the region to serve projects using wind turbines with a capacity of approximately 15 MW. There is already considerable interest in our investment – with the opening of the terminal, we are also signing the first long-term lease agreement with Ocean Winds, one of the world’s largest offshore energy developers” – admitted Janusz Bil, President of the Management Board of ORLEN Neptun.
The signing of the agreement confirms Ocean Winds’ commitment to the development of the offshore wind sector in Poland and to strengthening the participation of Polish companies and port infrastructure in the implementation of strategic energy investments. The terminal in Świnoujście will enable the installation of foundations and will be one of the pillars of the BC-Wind offshore wind farm construction process.
BC-Wind is an offshore wind farm project located approximately 23 kilometers north of the coast, near the municipalities of Krokowa and Choczewo in the Pomeranian Province. The project is expected to achieve a planned capacity of 390 MW, with a total farm area of 90.94 km².
The BC-Wind farm is at an advanced stage of development and is one of the key projects in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. The project already has an environmental decision and conditions for connection to the grid. The project is currently in the final phase of contracting, and the final investment decision (FID) is planned for 2025. The start of electricity supply to the grid is planned for 2028.
