The new space in the Olivia Centre will be the planning and coordination center for the construction of Poland’s largest offshore wind farm. The Gdańsk office will facilitate cooperation with regional partners and access to key infrastructure for the construction of Baltica 2.

In the coming years, Pomerania will become the site of intensive activities related to the implementation of the Baltica 2 project, a 1.5 GW investment being built jointly by Ørsted and PGE, which will ultimately supply clean energy to approximately 2.5 million households in Poland. The Ørsted project team in Gdańsk will support the planning and coordination of key stages of the construction of the offshore part of Baltica 2, in which the company is the project leader.

The team of around 50 people will work closely with local partners, ports, and service facilities to effectively implement the next stages of the offshore investment. The new location will employ, among others, construction planning specialists, geographic information system (GIS) experts, crew change coordinators, and quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) specialists.

Transport accessibility and the standard of the facility itself were key factors in the choice of location. Olivia Centre is one of the most modern and best-connected office complexes in the Tri-City. Its location in the vicinity of major transport arteries and close to the airport ensures convenience for both the project team and visitors to the office.

– Gdańsk is a strategic location for the implementation of Baltica 2. It is here, in close proximity to key activities, that we will plan and coordinate the next steps in the construction of the largest offshore wind farm in Poland. Ørsted has already built more than 30 offshore wind farms off the coasts of three continents, and now we are proud to bring this global experience to the Polish market. Thanks to the new office location, we can not only effectively implement the project, but also build lasting cooperation with important stakeholders and support the development of local expertise in the offshore wind sector – said Ulrik Lange, Vice President and Managing Director of the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm at Ørsted.

– Ørsted has been present in Poland for 14 years. During this time, the company has become an important operational and competence center supporting local and global energy transformation. We currently employ over 800 people in our Warsaw office, who form six teams: business development, engineering center, IT, finance, procurement, and HR. We are proud that our employees represent as many as 31 nationalities, and women make up 46 percent of the entire workforce. Thanks to our high level of competence, diversity, and shared mission, together we are creating a future based on green energy – said Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Managing Director of Ørsted Offshore Polska.

Baltica 2 is already having a real impact on the development of Pomerania – it is stimulating the local supply chain, creating new jobs, and engaging communities in the energy transition. With 107 turbines with a total capacity of 1.5 GW, the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm will make a significant contribution to the transformation of the Polish energy sector as early as 2027.
