Now that the planning approval documents have been checked for completeness, public participation for the approximately 24-kilometre-long section in the EEZ is starting. The authority conducting the procedure – the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) – will accept comments from public bodies from 15 May to 28 June.
The application documents will be published digitally on the BSH website under Announcements, in accordance with the German Plan Certifications Act (Plansicherstellungsgesetz).
In addition, the documents will be available for inspection in the BSH libraries for one month.
The sea route section in the EEZ is the first section in the Ostwind 3 project for which public participation has started. For the sections of the sea route in the coastal sea (12 nautical mile zone) and the land route, public participation is to begin in the next few months. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the authority responsible for these two sections.
Ostwind 3 is the grid connection project of the Windanker wind farm. In future, a capacity of 300 megawatts (MW) is to be fed from there. For the first time, in addition to the cable systems for connecting the wind farm to the transmission grid, the offshore transformer platform (USP) is also being planned, constructed and operated entirely by 50Hertz.
