The Polish Ministry of Energy has announced a key recruitment drive for specialists who will help define professional qualification standards in the power sector. This initiative is of fundamental importance for energy security and the pace of transformation in the Baltic Sea region, where the demand for certified experts is growing at a record pace.

In the face of billions of dollars of investment in Polish transmission networks, offshore wind energy, and energy storage technologies, the key challenge is no longer the technology itself, but human capital. To ensure the highest quality of installation and operation, the Polish Ministry of Energy has launched a recruitment process for 11 Expert Teams as part of the Integrated Qualification System (ZSK).

Goal: Modern staff for a modern network

The task of the appointed experts will be to assess whether new professional qualifications (such as energy storage installer or PV diagnostician) correspond to the real needs of the market and dynamic technological progress.

This is an important signal for foreign investors and companies operating on the Polish market – Poland is striving for full professionalization of its workforce in line with European standards, which in the future will facilitate the flow of specialists and increase the operational safety of energy projects.

What competencies will be examined by experts?

The teams’ work will focus on 11 key areas that are the foundation of a modern low-carbon economy. These include:

  • Energy storage: Installation and monitoring of energy storage facilities associated with grids and renewable energy sources.
  • Photovoltaics: Advanced installation diagnostics.
  • Smart Grids: Energy management in buildings and operation of locally balanced systems.
  • Critical infrastructure: Installation and maintenance of overhead and cable lines, as well as modern metering systems.

Who can participate in the work?

The Polish Ministry of Energy is looking for practitioners—engineers, service technicians, and educators—who have documented experience in the above areas. Experts will be responsible for preparing opinions and recommendations that will have a real impact on training and certification programs throughout the country.

Key information for candidates:

  • Application deadline: January 16, 2026.
  • Form of cooperation: Expert work (unpaid), which is a prestigious contribution to the development of the sector.
  • How to apply: Send documents (form and list of experience) to: magdalena.czykwin@me.gov.pl.

Why is this important for the region?

The standardization of qualifications in Poland, the largest energy market in Central and Eastern Europe, has a direct impact on the supply chain throughout the Baltic Sea region. Certificates consistent with the Polish Qualifications Framework (PRK) allow contractors from other EU countries to better understand the competences of Polish subcontractors, which is crucial for the implementation of cross-border offshore projects and the construction of interconnectors.

Participation in Expert Teams is a unique opportunity for industry professionals to directly shape the professional requirements that will apply for decades to come.
