Yesterday, the PSEW2025 Conference, a key event for the Polish wind energy sector organized by the Polish Wind Energy Association, began in Świnoujście. One of the most important moments of the conference opening was the issuance of the Declaration “Wind Energy for a Strong Poland” (“Energetyka wiatrowa dla silnej Polskw”), which was handed directly to Arkadiusz Marchewka from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Miłosz Motyka from the Ministry of Climate and Environment. This appeal emphasizes the strategic importance of wind energy for Poland’s economic and energy future.

Declaration “Wind Energy for a Strong Poland”:

Poland is on the verge of an energy revolution. The PSEW2025 declaration clearly indicates that the next 15 years will be a time of unprecedented investment that will transform both the energy sector and the entire economy of the country. It is estimated that approximately PLN 300 billion will be allocated to offshore projects and another PLN 300 billion to the development of onshore wind energy. This is one of the most ambitious development projects in Polish history, and its success will determine whether the country will seize the opportunity for a civilizational leap forward by building a modern economy based on knowledge and clean technologies. The wind industry emphasizes that it is crucial to avoid the trap of average development and accelerate the transformation.

In order to achieve these goals and fully exploit the potential of wind energy, concrete decisions and actions are necessary. The PSEW2025 declaration lists three key areas:

  • Simplification of investment procedures: The current system for obtaining administrative decisions is significantly too complicated, time-consuming, and costly. The industry is calling for an end to the long wait for permits, which is blocking the development of strategic investments. It is proposed to simplify regulations, including by integrating the investment path, digitizing processes, and improving institutional coordination.
  • Support for industry and consumers: Green energy is not only about energy security, but also the foundation of competitiveness. In order to become independent of external supplies, Poland must build strong local competencies and a Net-Zero industry. It is essential to continue work on the Polish Industry Strategy for Wind Energy, which will aim to integrate the activities of all state and business bodies in order to take full advantage of the opportunity that presents itself.
  • Ensuring security and predictability of investments: Wind energy, especially offshore wind energy, requires many years of planning and huge capital expenditures. Predictability of the law and a stable regulatory environment are key to maintaining investor confidence and certainty in the supply chain. Such measures will keep capital in Poland and enable the development of projects on the scale that the country needs. The industry also emphasizes the need to support these measures with long-term and ambitious goals for the entire energy sector.

The PSEW2025 Conference Declaration is a clear signal that the Polish wind industry is ready to take on the burden of energy transition, but to do so it needs support and concrete action from the government. Will this appeal be met with an appropriate response and accelerate the development of clean energy in Poland? Świnoujście has become a symbolic place for this important message.

During the three-day conference, over 2,500 participants will have the opportunity to take part in numerous debates and roundtable discussions. Both Poland’s current position in the energy transition process and forecasts for the future are discussed. The event is also an excellent opportunity to establish valuable relationships and learn about the latest trends in the industry.
