Equinor and Polenergia are continuing their efforts to develop the Polish offshore wind energy industry. Once again, they are inviting companies interested in cooperating on offshore wind farm projects to participate in the Supplier Day, which will take place on the 2nd of April 2025 at the “STARTER” Gdańsk Business Incubator. The meeting, aimed at suppliers of offshore wind farm servicing and maintenance services for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 projects, provides an excellent opportunity to establish cooperation with investors implementing innovative offshore projects in Poland.
The event stands out from other editions. Previous meetings have been attended by Tier 1 suppliers looking for partners for their supply chains in the Bałtyk 2 and 3 projects. This time the meeting will be hosted by Equinor, responsible for the operation of the Łeba base of operations, looking for companies to cooperate directly in the operation and servicing of the farms.
– We are at the stage of preparing the projects for the next phase of implementation and are looking for partners who will participate in the servicing and maintenance of the offshore infrastructure. We want companies with the right potential and competence to join the supply chain, including Polish companies and those with branches in our country. The suppliers with whom we will establish cooperation will participate in servicing the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms and in the development of the offshore industry in Poland – says Andrzej Popadiuk, Stakeholder Manager, Equinor Poland.
Opportunities to join the offshore wind sector
Meetings of the Supplier Day series have, since the first edition, attracted a lot of interest from domestic companies wishing to join the dynamically developing offshore industry. This time, companies offering services for electrical system infrastructure, associated infrastructure maintenance and offshore internal and export cable maintenance, including storage and repair, will be in demand. In addition, demand includes companies providing training and specialist qualifications for offshore wind farm operating personnel, providing monitoring, inspection and blade repair services, as well as occupational health and safety, industrial security and maintenance, subsea and marine surveys and IT/TelCom solutions.
– Supplier Days are cyclical meetings held as part of the Contract Commitment Package, one of the 5 proprietary Flagship Programmes that enable domestic companies to become involved in strategic projects for the Polish energy transition. The event is an opportunity for direct dialogue, to learn about key project information and a chance to establish cooperation with global companies in the offshore wind industry – says Krzysztof Wedeł, Deputy Director of the Offshore Wind Farm Department, Polenergia.
During the event, key information on the investment timeline, experience and innovation needed, as well as standards and requirements for suppliers will be presented. Participants will learn what the selection criteria for companies are, how the qualification process works and what conditions need to be met in order to be included in the database of potential suppliers and become involved in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland.
Participation in the Supplier Day is free of charge, but pre-registration is required, which runs until 17 March or until places run out. The registration form and details of the meeting are available at the link: registration and at www.baltyk123.pl.
