Lithuania’s National Energy Regulatory Council (VERT) has given the UAB Offshore Wind Park 1 offshore wind farm a permit to use part of the offshore area for the development and operation of renewable energy power plants.
VERT has announced the bidders for the developer of offshore wind parks tender of March 30, 2023 – legal entities Ignitis Renewables UAB and Ocean Winds Offshore operating under a cooperation agreement, as the winning bidders.
UAB Offshore Wind Park 1 has committed to building a power plant with an installed capacity of 735 MW and a permitted generating capacity of 700 MW, using wind energy to produce electricity, in an offshore area located about 35 kilometers from Palanga.
As a reminder, the first stage of the second Offshore Wind Competition is currently underway, with participants being registered. Bidding documents and proposals can be submitted until April 15.
