PGE Baltica, a PGE Group company, has signed a framework agreement with ‘PROJMORS’ Biuro Projektów Budownictwa Morskiego sp. z o.o. for technical consultancy in connection with the implementation of offshore wind energy investments in port areas.

The scope of work includes technical consultancy in the implementation of offshore wind projects in the port infrastructure, including, among others, the expert opinions, technical and economic analyses, as well as cost estimates for potential investments, preparation and evaluation of project documentation in the field of programme and spatial concepts, functional-utility programmes, construction, technical and executive designs. The contract also includes acting as a technical advisor for procurement proceedings, including analysis and support in the preparation of tender documents.

We are currently implementing the largest offshore wind project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea, and this type of investment requires detailed analyses in key elements. One of these is the service and port facilities for offshore wind farms. We are pleased that in this respect we will be cooperating with another Polish entity, Projmors – said Bartosz Fedurek, CEO of PGE Baltica.

The contract also includes project management consultancy including the identification of design risks and the execution of investment schedules, as well as support for design work involving BIM, i.e. building information modelling.

Within the scope of the contract, it is also planned to commission work related to providing opinions on the results of soil tests and other geotechnical studies and, if necessary, to perform control geotechnical tests (checking and verifying), additional control test loads confirming the required bearing capacity of the executed piles, ground anchors, etc., as well as to perform tests and quality tests verifying the properties and technical parameters of the used and embedded materials indicated by the Ordering Party;

PGE Baltica has selected Ustka as the location for its operations and maintenance base. The base, which will operate for the purposes of servicing PGE Baltica’s offshore wind farms, is currently at the final stage of works related to the need to demolish the remains of buildings located on the site of the future base. At the same time, the final stage of designing the base is underway. Construction of the key base for the farms being developed by PGE and Ørsted will begin in 2025.

The service base will be located in the western part of the port of Ustka on the site of a former fish processing plant. The service centre is to serve the ongoing monitoring of PGE’s wind farms in the Baltic Sea as well as planned and ad hoc repairs to turbines operating offshore. Ships with service crews and spare parts will depart from here.
