Focus on Local Industry Creation in Offshore wind sector: Business Case of the first Offshore Wind Farm in France

We would like to invite our readers to a unique event for the offshore wind energy industry in Poland – the “Polish-French Offshore Day” which will take place in Gdansk the 13th of September. EDF Renewables, the organiser of this event, and its key partners will come back to their local content experience gained over 10 years of local offshore industry creation, focusing on a dialogue on the first French Offshore Wind Farm (Saint-Nazaire, 480 MW) that will be commissioned by the end of the year.

The Polish-French Offshore Day will provide an opportunity to learn about the French experience and key success factors in the creation of a Offshore local industry (around 7 000 jobs on stage one in France), with a particular focus on integrating local companies into the supply chain.

EDF Renewables has applied for location permits in Poland in 10 of the 11 available areas for the construction of offshore wind farms under the so-called second phase of the offshore program in Poland.

Entities interested in cooperation with EDF Renewables in Poland will have the opportunity to meet with EDF Renewables’ Procurement Department through direct B2B meetings.

Polish stakeholders who register to attend the event will have the opportunity for face-to-face meetings with representatives of EDF Renewables and its strategic partners, including Chantier de l’Atlantique and GE. The talks will provide the opportunity to learn more about EDF Renewables’ experience to date, the principles of cooperation with the French company and the potential for participation in international procurement. During the event, it will also be possible to talk to representatives of the authorities of Saint-Nazaire, and the regional platform for offshore cooperation in France – Neopolia.  

“It will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the best of French practices in the development of offshore investments and all the initiatives supporting them – economic, educational and R&D”, said Alicja Chilińska-Zawadzka, Director of EDF Renewables Poland, while inviting to the event.
