Equinor and Polenergia are once again organising a Supplier Day, but for the first time it will be entirely dedicated to the Bałtyk 1 project – the largest and most advanced offshore wind farm being developed in the second phase of offshore development in Poland. For domestic contractors, the event represents a real opportunity to join the supply chain. Drawing on their experience from the first phase of offshore development, Equinor and Polenergia aim to achieve a 45% share of domestic companies in the Bałtyk 1 project. The meeting will take place on 16 September 2025 at the STARTER Business Incubator in Gdańsk.

The first Supplier Day for Bałtyk 1 is aimed at potential suppliers offering services necessary for the preparation, implementation, servicing and maintenance of offshore wind farms. The event opens up new opportunities for cooperation for companies that want to actively engage in the development of the offshore industry in Poland.

Involving local companies in offshore development

Supplier Day is an initiative launched by Equinor and Polenergia in 2019, which supports the involvement of domestic companies in strategic offshore wind investments. Previous meetings organised as part of Supplier Day concerned the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects and attracted considerable interest from both domestic and international companies. The format of the meetings proved to be an effective platform for establishing business contacts, which is why investors decided to continue the meetings for the Bałtyk 1 project as well.

A project of strategic importance for the energy transition

Bałtyk 1 is currently the most advanced project of the second phase of offshore development in Poland. At the same time, it is potentially the largest offshore wind farm being developed in the country. Its generating capacity may reach up to 1,560 MW. This is enough to supply green energy to as many as 2 million households.

The qualification process for the project for the December auction, which is a formal procedure allowing participation in the auction, has already begun. This is the first such application in Poland. Bałtyk 1 has a valid environmental decision, a permit to construct and use artificial islands, structures and equipment in Polish maritime areas, and a connection agreement with the transmission system operator PSE.

In order for the transformation of the Polish energy sector to be successful and to increase the involvement of domestic companies, it is crucial to exploit the project’s potential to the fullest extent possible. Equinor and Polenergia’s ambition is for the participation of domestic companies in the project to reach as much as 45%. However, this requires the auction to be successfully concluded before the end of this year.

Participation in Supplier Day is free of charge, but prior registration is required. The registration form and details of the event will soon be available at: www.baltyk123.pl.
