The first German offshore wind farm, Alpha Ventus, went into operation in 2010. In 2025 – 15 years later – the offshore industry faced various challenges: for the first time, there were no bids in a tender in August 2025. In addition, there were delays in connecting new offshore wind turbines to the grid. The industry organizations take stock in a joint press conference.

Based on data compiled by the consulting firm Deutsche WindGuard on the development of new installations, the industry associations of the German offshore wind industry and the OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE foundation look back on the past year, analyze the challenges, and make recommendations for action so that new installations can get back on track.

To mark the occasion, the associations Bundesverband WindEnergie (BWE), Bundesverband Windenergie Offshore e.V. (BWO), VDMA Power Systems, WAB e.V., and WindEnergy Network e.V. (WEN), as well as the OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE Foundation, cordially invite you to an online press conference.
