On August 21, the Polish Ministry of Energy was established, headed by Miłosz Motyka. The Council of Ministers adopted a regulation on this matter.

Establishment of the Ministry of Energy

The new ministry is being created through the transformation of the existing Ministry of Industry. According to the wording of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of August 18, 2025 on the establishment of the Ministry of Energy, the transformation “consists in incorporating into the existing Ministry of Industry, which handles matters related to the government administration department of energy resources, the organizational units of the existing Ministry of Climate and Environment, which handles matters related to the government administration department of energy, and the employees who handle matters related to this department.”

The establishment of the ministry is related to the appointment of the Minister of Energy. Pursuant to the Regulation of the Prime Minister of July 25, 2025, on the detailed scope of activities of the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Energy heads the government administration departments of energy and energy resources management.
