Perigus Energy Deutschland has acquired the rights to the Olpe-Rehringhausen wind farm project from ABO Energy, taking over responsibility for the remaining development and construction of the permitted scheme in North Rhine-Westphalia. Both developers signed an agreement to that effect.
The project is already well advanced. The Olpe district authority granted the permit for construction and operation on 26 March 2026, covering three turbines of seven megawatts each, or 21 MW in total. The site sits in a designated wind priority area in the Rother Stein forest, close to the B55 federal road.
Around three kilometres to the east, Perigus Energy is developing a second scheme, the Windfart wind farm. The company said the proximity of the two projects creates synergies for planning, construction and later operation.
"The acquisition of Olpe-Rehringhausen underlines our ability to secure attractive projects even in the current market environment," said Stefan Bachmaier, managing director of Perigus Energy Deutschland.
Perigus Energy, formerly OSTWIND and previously part of Ørsted, develops, builds and operates wind, solar and storage projects in Germany, Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom. It is part of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the Danish fund manager that is also one of the largest investors in Baltic Sea offshore wind. The company reports 668 MW of installed renewable capacity in Europe and more than 160 MW of solar and wind projects under construction, with over 800 MW realised in Germany across more than 30 years.
Transaction terms were not disclosed. The company is headquartered in Regensburg and has a branch office in Essen.
