Both the topside and jacket of the OSS Jasmund have been successfully loaded out and are ready to set sail to the Baltic Sea for offshore installation.
The topside, constructed at HSM Offshore Energy’s Stormpolder yard, measures 48m long, 33m wide, and 17.5m high, and weighs around 4,500 tons. The 72m-high jacket, built by Smulders in Vlissingen, is equally impressive.
Both operations required precision planning and seamless execution to safely transfer the massive structures onto the barges for their upcoming journey. To ensure a safe and stable transfer and transport of the substation, a tailor-made grillage was designed and constructed to optimize structural integrity, load distribution and transport efficiency.
The HSI consortium, consisting of HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders, and Iv, is proud to deliver the OSS Jasmund for 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, covering the full EPCIC scope (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning). OSS Jasmund is the first of three offshore substations being developed by the consortium for 50Hertz, further supporting Europe’s growing offshore wind capacity.
