Poland must have more potential in offshore wind energy than currently estimated 11 GW capacity, according to Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskwa.
“What we care about now is the re-evaluation of sea zoning plans, as Poland surely has more potential in offshore wind than 11 GW, and launching further proceedings (for locations permits)”, said Anna Moskwa at the press conference on December 29.
The minister has not provided any timeframe for the offshore potential update. While the Polish Climate and Environment Ministry is in charge of drafting the country’s climate and energy policy, sea zoning plans and granting offshore location permits are the competences of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
