JUWI GmbH and Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH have announced the sale of the 24 MW Gyhum wind farm to Energy Invest Mittelhessen 1, an investment fund managed by Union Investment. Pacifico advised the fund on the acquisition. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The wind farm is being built by JUWI at Gyhum-Hesedorf in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district of Lower Saxony. It consists of four Vestas V162 turbines with a hub height of 169 metres and a rotor diameter of 162 metres. Commissioning is expected at the beginning of 2027. A fifth turbine of the same type was taken over by a local operator community.
JUWI expects the turbines to feed in about 73 million kWh a year, equivalent to the annual consumption of roughly 25,000 households, and to avoid about 55,300 tonnes of CO2 compared with conventional generation.
“With Gyhum we are showing once again that we can deliver wind projects from first planning to implementation from a single source,” said JUWI CEO Jost Backhaus. Ulf Oesterlin, Managing Director of Pacifico, said the firm was glad to have supported the acquisition for the fund. JUWI is part of MVV Energie, based in Mannheim.
