The Polish Wind Energy Association (PSEW) Conference, the largest industry event in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to wind energy, begins today. This significant gathering, held from June 4-6, marks the 19th year of the conference, which is a cornerstone for shaping solutions to the most pressing challenges in the wind energy sector.
The theme of this year’s conference underscores the critical role of wind energy in Poland’s energy transformation. The event will host over 2000 participants from various countries, including political leaders, industry experts, major investors, entrepreneurs, and scientists.
Keynote speakers include prominent figures such as Waldemar Sługocki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology; Miłosz Motyka, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment; Grzegorz Onichimowski, President of PSE; Piotr Listwoń, Vice President of TGE; Marek Szymankiewicz, President of ENEA Operator; Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship; Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope; and Prof. Dr. Szymon Malinowski, Chair of the PAN Climate Crisis Advisory Team.
The conference aims to facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the acceleration of sustainable wind energy initiatives. This year, Poland celebrates a record 10 GW of wind energy capacity, yet the potential is far greater. Discussions will address key issues such as the future of Poland’s energy policy, the necessary legislative changes, and the pivotal role of offshore wind energy, a sector poised to generate 178 billion PLN for the Polish economy and create over 100,000 jobs.
A highlight of the conference is the International Suppliers Day on June 6, which will focus on strengthening the European wind industry through international cooperation. This day will provide Polish companies with the opportunity to forge business connections with major global offshore markets, discussing topics such as network development, local content, port infrastructure, wind sector services, and workplace safety.
The conference not only promises insightful discussions and workshops but also offers numerous networking opportunities, banquets, and other engaging events. Registration is still open for those wishing to join this pivotal event and contribute to the future of wind energy in Poland and beyond.
