The season of industry events has opened for good, but the most important BPO event is still ahead of us. As every year, this time we will also meet to talk about the most current issues of the port sector and to exchange experiences. September is marked by the Port of Ystad!
“Next port of call: Ystad! The BPO Conference 2023 is hosted proudly by our port and the beautiful city of Ystad. We greet you cordially welcome to the most important event this year. We will be there – will you?” – a few inviting words from Björn Boström, the Managing Director at Port of Ystad.
What will we be discussing?
Our annual gathering we will begin with a welcome reception. This is the best introduction of another 2 days full of presentations, discussion panels and networking.
Nowadays we live in very dynamic times, which is why we wanted to address many current topics during the conference and try to anticipate what will be significant in the nearest future. The growing strategic importance of the Baltic Sea region is already a fact. How will this affect the security and future of logistic chains in the BSR in the context of recent geopolitical shifts? These are some of the questions our experts will tackle during the second day of the meeting. The development of potential, independence and competitiveness of the ports in the BSR will be also one of the points of the discussion. As well as the anticipations of what awaits the ferry and ro-ro market in the BSR.
On the third day we will focus on climate changes and financing key infrastructure. The infrastructure development will also occur in terms of port equipment electrification. The discussion panel about the current distribution of power installations on land and its profitability in the next 2 decades will close the substantive part of the conference. Later on you will be able to visit the port during a bus tour around the facility.
