In mid-January 2025, PNE AG made a strategic decision to sell its Swedish subsidiaries, PNE Sverige AB and VKS Vindkraft Sverige AB, to the Norwegian energy supply company Aneo. The transaction includes the companies located in Gothenburg and Motala, alongside a project pipeline comprising wind energy and photovoltaic projects. These projects represent a total output of 300 MW across various phases of development, with an additional 700 MW in the early stages of progress.

“We are delighted that in Aneo we have found a buyer who is just as committed to the expansion of renewable energies as we are,” said Heiko Wuttke, CEO of PNE AG. “Aneo will also take over the employees of the two companies and continue the projects that we have built up. We will invest the proceeds from the sale in the further growth of our core markets.”

The purchase price of the transaction has not been disclosed.

This move comes as part of PNE’s broader strategy to enhance its renewable energy footprint. By focusing on its core markets and further investing in high-potential regions, PNE is positioning itself for continued success in the evolving energy sector.

PNE Group’s Success in Wind Energy Tenders

In addition to the sale of its Swedish subsidiaries, PNE Group has also recently scored significant victories in the Federal Network Agency’s tender round for onshore wind turbines. All four of the wind farms submitted by PNE were awarded contracts. These include the “Lütau” and “Wulfsdorf” projects in Schleswig-Holstein, the “Willerstedt” wind farm in Thuringia, and the expansion of the “Kuhstedt” wind farm in Lower Saxony. Together, these projects will generate a total output of 91.5 MW, contributing to PNE’s broader growth in the onshore wind sector. These wind farms are expected to either begin construction or start operation in the coming year.

Together with the February tender, PNE Group was awarded a total of 117.9 MW in wind energy projects this year.
