The Industrial Development Agency S.A. (ARP), together with ARP TFI S.A., are taking steps to mobilise institutional capital, Polish and foreign, for the energy transition in Poland, through the creation of the Polish Green Fund.
The mission of the Polish Green Fund (PZF) is to support the change of the Polish economy towards green transformation and energy decarbonisation. The Fund is an important step in ARP S.A.’s “Clean Industry” strategy for 2023-2025, with an outlook to 2030.
– Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A. acts as an integrator of the energy transformation of Polish enterprises. Through its companies, it actively invests in projects aimed at increasing the share of green energy in the Polish energy mix, thus becoming an important player in the supply chain for Polish industry. I am sure that our experience gained over more than 30 years of cooperation with Polish entrepreneurs and the trust they have in ARP S.A. will allow the fund to invest in spectacular projects and investors to receive a market return on their invested funds – said Michał Dąbrowski, President of ARP S.A.
– In line with the presented development plan of ARP S.A., we have successfully launched the long-awaited project that is the Polish Green Fund. We are consistently putting the Industrial Development Agency on the path of sustainable development, and ARP S.A.’s products are an accurate response to the needs reported by Polish enterprises, as demonstrated by the company’s best ever results. We eliminate projects that generate losses, with the highest indicator being our concern for the public funds entrusted to ARP S.A., which are to work effectively and not be wasted. The numbers cannot be fooled – the results speak for themselves. In just 8 months we have increased the result of the Industrial Development Agency, against the plan, by almost 400 per cent – emphasised President Michał Dąbrowski.
The Polish Green Fund is a closed-end investment fund of non-public assets managed by ARP TFI S.A., a company from the ARP S.A. Group. The Agency is the first investor in the fund, which has invested capital representing at least 20 per cent of the planned capital of the PZF.
ARP S.A.’s support will make it easier for the Polish Green Fund to gain the trust of sponsors for attractive investment projects. In addition, the company can also benefit from the support of other Polish development institutions, namely PFR, BGK, KUKE, PAIH, PARP, NCBR and NFOŚiGW.
ARP TFI S.A. is currently focusing on attracting further investors among Polish and foreign institutional entities and among international financial corporations.
– As ARP TFI S.A., we plan to invest in over a dozen rigorously selected projects with the potential to generate high returns on capital at a marketable risk level. We have already identified potential projects worth nearly PLN 6 billion – said Michał Gładyś, President of the Management Board of ARP TFI S.A.
ARP S.A.’s support opens the fund’s doors to Polish institutions, companies and local governments, which also significantly facilitates PZF’s access to attractive investment projects. Investors in the Polish Green Fund can take advantage of the possibility of indirect co-investment in projects implemented by the PZF, which is an interesting proposition especially for foreign investors, ensuring safe entry into the Polish market of investment projects based on energy transformation.
– The implementation by ARP S.A., together with ARP TFI S.A., of the project consisting in the establishment of the Polish Green Fund, will allow to take a milestone step towards the development of green transformation and energy decarbonisation in the Polish market. Detailed market analyses and cooperation with ARP TFI S.A. have enabled the preparation of an original investment fund operating in the infrastructure market based on a ‘tailor-made’ investment policy and strategy. Planned investments will include, among others, the area of RES, green industrial transformation, infrastructure and municipal services. The Polish Green Fund will also respond to the expectations of the investment market regarding the inclusion of ESG factors in investment projects – said Radosław Niedzielski, Vice President of the Management Board of ARP S.A.
The activities of the Polish Green Fund, apart from investment, also have a social dimension. The financial instruments created by ARP TFI S.A. will create an opportunity for long-term private equity-type investments to multiply the capital of Polish pension funds.
