Tele-Fonika Kable S.A. to supply cables for construction of key infrastructure of Baltica 2 offshore wind farm

Tele-Fonika a global supplier of HV and EHV cable systems for the renewable energy sector, has been selected for the Baltica 2 project, with a capacity of approximately 1.5 GW, by Polimex Mostostal and GE Power. The company will build the onshore connection of the offshore wind farm including cabling. Tele-Fonika will manufacture at the Bydgoszcz Plant and supply approximately 90 km of onshore EHV cables together with accessories.

The Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, located 25 km from the shore in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea between Łeba and Ustka with necessary onshore infrastructure, to be built in the Choczewo municipality, will be a key element of the Polish renewable energy sector.

Tele-Fonika’s scope of work includes the supply of approximately 90 km of 275 kV onshore cables with accessories. Production is scheduled for 2025, and the cables will be manufactured at the Bydgoszcz Plant, which is only 200 km from the location of the farm.

The Baltica 2 wind farm project is one of the most important energy projects in Poland, aiming to increase the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix as early as 2027. Implementation of this project will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and strengthening Poland’s energy security, thus supporting the country’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 by supplying 100% green energy to end users.

Tele-Fonika’s comprehensive cable supply will be based on 100% local production, which will definitely contribute to the national benefits of offshore investments.
