The Supervisory Board of Lithuanian state-owned energy group Ignitis grupė has approved Vytenis Koryzna as the final candidate for Chair of the Management Board and CEO, the company said on 24 September. Koryzna, currently a board member and Chief Commercial Officer, would succeed Darius Maikštėnas when his second term ends on 28 February 2027.
The final decision on his election depends on background checks by the competent authorities on his suitability for the post. After that decision, the Supervisory Board will select a new member of the Management Board. The CEO is appointed for a five-year term.
Koryzna has more than ten years of senior executive experience. At Ignitis he is responsible for energy markets, commercial operations, trading, and customer and energy solutions. He has served on the boards of Ignitis Renewables and Ignitis Gamyba, chaired the board of Ignitis, and initiated the group’s Energy Transformation unit.
The selection process began on 1 June 2026, with executive search firm Pedersen & Partners assessing candidates against published requirements. Alfonso Faubel, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said the next phase will require disciplined execution and the ability to adapt to a changing energy environment.
