“Clean, affordable, and rapidly deployable renewable energy is our best and only competitive edge for attracting new industrial investments to Finland. Only by significantly increasing onshore wind power can we secure both energy production and the future of Finnish industry. National regulation must support this development – not slow it down. Finland has excellent conditions to maintain its position as an attractive investment destination in Europe, both for renewable energy and for the industries relying on it. The recently proposed measures in the government’s budget framework risk undermining this functioning model,” Peltomaa states.
“We begin our new board term by putting our newly updated strategy into action, and we believe Finland has strong cards to play,” Peltomaa concludes.
Jenny-Li Holmström, Head of Legal Affairs at Taaleri Energia Oy, was elected Vice Chair of the Board. Holmström has been an active contributor to the association’s board and committees since 2013.
“Economic growth driven by renewable energy is the most sustainable path forward. One of our key focus areas during this board term will be to clarify how the association can help the sector’s companies lead the way in responsibility. As Vice Chair, I’m pleased to support the association in this work,” says Holmström.
