The Ministry of Infrastructure announced on 25 January 2023 the results of the determination procedure for the location permit for another area from Phase II of the Polish offshore.

The decision concerns area 60.E.3 located on the Central Shoal of the Baltic Sea. Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 1, which is SPV of PGE Baltica of the PGE Group, received the most points.

In the adjudication proceedings, the highest number was achieved in order:

Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 1
EDF Renewable Offshore Poland I
Cordeneos
POW-Polish Offshore Wind-Co

The commentary of the CEO of PGE Polska grupa Energetyczna Wojciech Dąbrowski:
The 60.E.3 area is directly adjacent to the Baltica 1 project, which we are already developing. This means that there are great opportunities to use the synergy effect in the development of both projects in the future. In some cases, it will be possible to carry out joint procurement processes, including surveys or procurement of components necessary for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in this part of the Baltic Sea. This is the second recently resolved proceeding in favor of the PGE Group. This proves the high substantive quality of the prepared applications and the solid work of our specialists behind it. In accordance with the strategy of the PGE Group, we plan to build at least 6.5 GW of generation capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2040, and each new location permit brings us closer to achieving this goal.
