German project developer UKA Group acquired wind projects or took over stakes totalling around 900 MW in the first half of 2026, the Meissen-based company said. The projects are spread across Germany and are mostly in early to mid stages of development.

The acquisitions add to a portfolio of roughly 1.5 GW currently under construction in UKA’s home market. The company buys projects at all stages of development, from early planning through to ready-to-build.

“The market is currently re-sorting itself. Anyone with a wind project in the pipeline today is battling rising costs, tougher bank conditions and falling auction revenues. That makes it economically sensible for many developers to bring a strong partner on board — whether for a cooperation or a full sale,” said UKA managing director Stefan Kath.

According to UKA, developers considering a sale or cooperation cite a lack of liquidity, limited staff capacity or a wish not to carry construction and operating risk themselves. The owner-managed group, with more than 26 years in the market, holds framework agreements with turbine manufacturers and has placed firm orders for close to 2 GW of turbines over the past two years. In the medium term it aims to commission more than 1 GW of wind capacity per year.
