German onshore wind developer Enova has reached 1.4 GW of self-operated capacity, with a further 400 MW of wind farms in construction or ready to build, as it pursues a plan to triple its portfolio by 2030.
Fourteen wind farms with a combined 400 MW — including sites in Boldecker Land, Nettetal and Krempdorf — are currently under construction or building-ready. All of the company’s bids in this year’s EEG auctions were successful, each above the average award value, including six turbines awarded in the most recent round. Enova has also acquired wind farms with a combined potential of around 200 MW so far this year.
Two projects were commissioned during the period: the 65 MW Meppen wind farm went online in June — the largest repowering project in the company’s history — followed by the 12.6 MW Gehrde wind farm in August.
The growth sits within Enova’s “HYP3R 2030” strategy, launched earlier this year, which targets 3 GW of installed capacity and €5 billion in assets under management by 2030, split across three platforms: ENOVA IPP, ENOVA Value and the newly founded ENOVA Generation. “The past months show that our strategy is working,” said chief executive Hauke Brümmer.
