Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in OffshoreCrew AS, a Norwegian recruitment and crewing specialist for the offshore and maritime industries. The company announced the deal on 29 September 2026. No financial terms were disclosed.
OffshoreCrew, headquartered in Kristiansand, supplies recruitment, staffing and crew management to oil and gas, offshore wind and subsea operators. It maintains a database of around 30,000 offshore professionals.
BSM has traditionally focused on technical and crew management for the global shipping industry. The partnership lets it offer individual specialists, such as dynamic positioning operators and crane operators, across a broader range of offshore unit types, alongside its existing services from crew management to full technical management. The companies say this should speed up the mobilisation of qualified personnel, particularly in offshore wind and other energy segments.
“This investment allows us to respond faster and more flexibly to our customers’ needs, particularly in dynamic offshore markets,” said Sebastian von Hardenberg, CEO of BSM. OffshoreCrew CEO Javier Zahn said BSM’s network would help the company reach a broader international client base.
BSM manages a fleet of 700 vessels with 40,000 crew. For Baltic offshore wind, where installation and service vessels compete for the same specialist crews, deals that widen the supply of qualified personnel are relevant to project schedules.
