The HSI consortium consisting of HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv-Offshore & Energy is awarded a EPCI platform contract, including jackets, for Gennaker 1 (West) and 2 (East) by 50Hertz for the Gennaker wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. With a total capacity of 927 MW, it will be the largest and most powerful offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea: a great milestone in the green energy transition.
Last year, the German grid operator 50Hertz already awarded the Ostwind 3 High Voltage AC-platform (300MW) and its jacket to this consortium. Together, Ostwind 3 and Gennaker 1 and 2 will provide enough green electricity for over a million households.
HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv-Offshore & Energy are responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the substations and jackets. The engineering for these platforms has already started.
We are proud that 50Hertz has expressed confidence and appreciation in our consortium and we are confident that our combined experience will make this job a success.
Hans Leerdam, Commercial Director of HSM Offshore Energy: HSM Offshore Energy is proud to boost the energy transition and support 50Hertz in bringing green electricity to shore for over one million households.
Wim Vaes, Commercial Director of Smulders: We are proud that the HSI consortium has been selected again by 50Hertz for Gennaker 1 and 2. This new contract fits into the Smulders’ strategy of building long-lasting relationships with our clients. We are therefore looking forward to continue working with 50Hertz and our consortium partners HSM Offshore and Iv-Offshore & Energy.
Fedor van Veen, Managing Director of Iv-Offshore & Energy: We are pleased that the Consortium has also been selected for the Gennaker Substations. Iv-Offshore & Energy looks forward to the further cooperation with 50Hertz.
