The CBSS B-SEA (Baltic Science Educational Academy) invites young scientists focusing on sustainable energy to participate in a 3-day school. The activity is supported in the framework of the CBSS Project Support Facility co-funded project “BSR Mobilities for Young Researchers”.

Young scientists and doctoral candidates often face the challenge of teaching in addition to their research activities. In order to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that meets the needs and demands of the labour market, excellent teaching skills are a key requirement. The aim of this CBSS B-SEA 3 day seminar, therefore, is to enhance the teaching skills of young scientists and doctoral candidates. In addition, the school serves to increase the exchange of experiences, knowledge and best practices among students in the Baltic Sea Region, both with regard to their own research topics and in the field of teaching, and to establish first contacts for future research cooperation in the field of sustainable energy.

This 3 day networking and teaching school is for young researchers at the beginning of their academic career or doing a PhD on sustainable energy in the Baltic Sea Region wishing to enhance their teaching skills.

The preliminary programme will include:

  • Integrating the concept of sustainable energy into current study programmes
  • A one-day workshop on the topic of teaching & learning
  • A meeting with the Hamburg Renewable Energy Cluster
  • A virtual visit to HAW Hamburg’s energy campus and developing a teaching module on energy transition

The deadline to send in applications is the 15th of August. The school is planned to take place online 21-23 September 2021.
