The Nordex Group has secured a 112 MW order from NeXtWind Management for the Altmark wind farm in Saxony-Anhalt. Nordex will supply and install 16 N175/6.X turbines on 179-metre hub heights, and the contract includes a 20-year premium service agreement.

The wind farm will be built between Salzwedel and Stendal and ranks among the larger repowering projects in the region. Installation is scheduled to begin in November 2027, with commissioning expected in spring 2028.

“With the N175/6.X and a hub height of 179 metres, we are delivering a major project for NeXtWind in Saxony-Anhalt,” said Karsten Brüggemann, vice president for the central region at Nordex, noting the repeat business with the developer.

NeXtWind, based in Berlin and London and founded in 2020, focuses on acquiring and repowering existing wind farms. It currently operates more than 37 sites with 500 MW of capacity and a repowering pipeline of 2 GW, and aims to reach 3 GW of generation capacity by 2028. Nordex, founded in 1985, has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind capacity across over 40 markets and reported group revenue of around €7.6bn in 2025.

Saxony-Anhalt has long been a key region for onshore wind in Germany, and projects on the windy Altmark plain feed into wider efforts across the Baltic countries to expand renewable generation and strengthen security of supply.
