Ørsted intends to reinstate dividend payments for the 2026 financial year, with the first distribution reaching shareholders in 2027. The proposed level will be set out in the Annual Report 2026.

The company has said payouts will start at a moderate level and rise gradually through 2028, with earnings growth prioritised over a higher immediate yield. Dividends were last paid in March 2023 before being suspended amid write-downs on the group’s US offshore wind portfolio.

The return follows a rights issue of around USD 9.35 billion and the completion of a divestment programme, which together rebuilt the balance sheet. Ørsted has also said it remains on track against its 2026 financial guidance.

For the Baltic the signal is about capacity to invest rather than the payout itself. Ørsted is the partner alongside PGE on Baltica 2, where turbine installation is due in 2027, and its financial position determines how aggressively it can bid into the next rounds of Polish and German capacity. A company restoring dividends is one that believes its construction pipeline is funded.
