The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (CPTRA) in Estonia announced that the winner of the auction for Saare 2.1 sea area has been revealed. The only bid was submitted by Deep Wind Offshore AS (Norwegian company) in the amount of 2,457,000 euros, which was also the starting price of the auction.
The winner of the auction can commence with the development of an offshore wind farm in the Saare 2.1 sea area, with an area of 163,8 km².
The auction started on 18 June 2024 at 12 p.m., Estonian time, and ended on 20 June 2024 at 12 p.m.
According to the application for superficies licence submitted by Deep Wind Offshore AS on 28 March 2024, up to 98 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 1560 MW are planned to be erected in the Saare 2.1 sea area. Superficies licence proceedings together with an environmental impact assessment will commence in relation to the winner of the auction within 90 days from the confirmation of the winner. The CPTRA will issue a decision to refuse to initiate superficies licence proceedings in respect of other competing applications.
Auction for Saare 2.2 will take place from 26 June 2024 at 12 p.m. to 28 June 2024 at 12 p.m.
