Boskalis in consortium with TKF Subsea Solutions B.V. (TKF) recently signed a contract for the supply and installation of 140 kilometers of inter-array cables for the Genakker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea developed by Skyborn Renewables. As part of the scope, Boskalis and TKF will deliver the complete inter-array cable system, connecting the future 63 wind turbine generators in the offshore wind farm. The cables will be manufactured in the Netherlands by TKF, after which our specialized cable-laying vessel BOKA Ocean will install the cables as of the end of 2027.

With a capacity of 976.5 MW, the Genakker offshore wind farm will become the largest of its kind in the German Baltic Sea, supplying green energy to approximately one million German households. Commissioning of the wind farm is planned for 2028.

Boskalis is already active in the Genakker offshore wind farm. Our subsidiary Boskalis Heinrich Hirdes EOD Services is conducting an identification and clearance campaign for unexploded ordnance (UXOs) within the offshore wind farm, for which it has mobilized its dedicated UXO vessel Kamara.
