RelyOn Poland has launched OPITO-accredited training courses at its facility in Gdańsk, becoming the first provider in the Pomorze and Tricity region to offer the international offshore safety training standard.
OPITO (the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation) sets globally recognised competency standards for offshore personnel, including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), a core module for anyone working on offshore installations reached by helicopter. RelyOn Poland, part of the Falck Safety Services group, already runs Global Wind Organisation (GWO) accredited courses, including instructor qualification training for the wind sector.
The company said the new accreditation responds to rising demand for specialist safety training tied to the expansion of offshore wind in the Baltic Sea. Poland’s first large-scale offshore wind farm, Baltic Power, is approaching commissioning off the coast near Łeba, with further projects from PGE Baltica and Ørsted, among others, in earlier stages of development — each adding to the pipeline of technicians and crew who need HUET-standard certification before working offshore.
RelyOn Poland is based in Gdańsk, at the centre of Poland’s growing offshore wind supply chain around the Tricity ports.
