Ramboll and Projmors have successfully secured two building permits for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm project, signaling a significant milestone in the advancement of clean energy solutions in the Baltic Sea.
In a recent announcement made on their LinkedIn profile, Ramboll and their partner Projmors – Biuro Projektów Budownictwa Morskiego Sp. z o.o. have achieved a significant milestone by securing two building permits for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm project. This collaborative effort, developed by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted, marks a crucial advancement in the utilization of clean energy from wind power in the Baltic Sea, particularly benefiting Polish households.
The milestone achievement involves the successful acquisition of two building permits essential for the project’s progress. Firstly, a permit has been secured for the construction of four offshore substations, laying the groundwork for efficient energy transmission. Secondly, another permit has been obtained for the construction of 107 offshore wind turbines, complemented by the development of transmission and telecommunications networks.
This accomplishment underscores the dedication and expertise of the project team, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability and the local communities. The consortium expresses profound gratitude to their client for the trust bestowed upon them for this pivotal undertaking. Furthermore, they acknowledge the collective efforts of all team members whose diligence and perseverance have been instrumental in reaching this significant milestone.
Looking ahead, the consortium remains proactive, already engaging in the preparation of the technical design phase for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm. This signals a promising trajectory for the project’s continued success and reinforces the industry’s commitment to advancing offshore wind energy solutions.
Stay tuned for further updates as the consortium continues to drive progress towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy future with Baltica 2 OWF.
Baltica 2 is one of two – along with Baltica 3 – phases of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. Ørsted and PGE plan to complete construction of the Baltica 2 stage with a capacity of approx. 1.5 GW by the end of 2027, while the Baltica 3 stage with a capacity of approx. 1 GW by 2030. Investors are yet to make a final investment decision (FID). Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 will form the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm with a total capacity of 2.5 GW, which will significantly contribute to the transformation of Poland’s energy sector by providing green energy to nearly 4 million households in Poland.
