Iberdrola is organising an IBERDROLA B2B Supplier Day on June 7 in Rostock. The Spanish developer is seeking service and component suppliers for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm project among companies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The Supplier Day is organized by Iberdrola Renovables Deutschland GmbH, with the support of the WindEnergy Network (WEN). The meeting will be held in Rostock. The Supplier Day is an opportunity for Iberdrola’s main contractors (including Vestas, EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH and Van Oord) to meet companies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and learn about their competences. In this way, the developer wants to increase the participation of German companies in the project. This gives interested companies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern the opportunity to exchange information directly with potential customers. Currently, more than 100 companies have already signed up to participate in the event.

Construction of the 476 MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2022. In April 2022, Iberdrola received approval from the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) to build Baltic Eagle. The construction phase will begin with the installation of an offshore transformer platform. The wind power plant will be built approx. 30 km northeast of Rügen. The offshore farm is scheduled to be completed and operational in 2024.
