Siemens Gamesa, a global technology leader in the renewable energy industry, and Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic, a holding company owned by the Polish state-owned Industrial Development Agency, announced that they have recently signed a Letter of Intent to work together to further the Polish offshore wind power industry. Poland’s national legislation currently enables development of 10.9 GW of domestic Polish capacity on the Baltic Sea by 2030. On the basis of the agreement between the parties Siemens Gamesa & Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic seek to make the most of the opportunity that the new law offers. The partnership gives more certainty to planning & investment, and will support local value chain development in Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic’s home market according to a statement posted by Siemens Gamesa.
Siemens Gamesa and Baltic Operator, a company belonging to Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic, have already been collaborating on the supply of towers for onshore wind since 2017.
