OX2 has applied for a Natura 2000 permit for an offshore wind farm in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone to be located off the coasts of Falkenberg and Varberg. The wind installation will consist of approximately 101 wind turbines with a maximum height of 340 meters. The production volume is estimated at 6-7 TWh per year, as a result the installation will cover the energy demand of 1.2 million households.

– The wind farm will provide a large amount of renewable energy to southern Sweden, where the demand is very high. This is the demand of Swedish industry, which is a prerequisite for meeting Sweden’s environmental targets. This is also necessary to maintain, and grow the businesses and employment opportunities in southern Sweden,” comments Hillevi Priscar, Country Manager Sweden at OX2.

OX2 has established itself as a leader in onshore wind energy over the past 16 years. To date, it has built and sold around 2.5 GW in Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Norway for clients such as Allianz, Ardian, and IKEA. OX2 also has operations in France, Lithuania, Spain, Italy and Romania.
