Belgian manufacturer Smulders has completed the first load-out of suspended internal platform (SIP) cages for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, operating under a contract awarded by PGE and Ørsted. The components were produced at Smulders Projects Poland in Żary and assembled at the Polish Offshore Wind Terminal in Świnoujście before being loaded out.

Once installed inside the monopile foundations, the SIP cages will provide safe access for inspection, maintenance, and operational activities throughout the lifetime of the wind farm. Smulders said the project contributes to local content in Poland by combining Polish fabrication, assembly, and port activities.

Baltica 2, jointly developed by PGE and Ørsted, is by capacity the largest offshore wind farm currently under construction in Poland. Located approximately 40 km off the Polish coast near Ustka, the project will feature 107 turbines with a total installed capacity of 1.5 GW — enough to supply around 2.4 million households with green electricity.
