Baltic Industrial Group (GP Baltic) and the City of Rumia have established cooperation. On 24 July 2024, a Letter of Intent was signed by the President of GP Baltic Adam Kowalski and the Mayor of Rumia Michał Pasieczny. The cooperation is the result of, among other things, a study visit by Miłosz Motyka, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Climate and Environment at the end of June to the Baltic Industrial Group, which was also co-organised by the Industrial Development Agency and the Baltic Towers company.
City of Rumia is developing the project of the Pomeranian Centre of Competence for Offshore Renewable Energy in Rumia, a joint initiative of the company Rumia Invest Park and the City of Rumia, which includes activities such as cooperation with universities and companies in the offshore wind energy industry, as well as initiatives such as the Edu Offshore Wind career fair or the activities of the Pomeranian Offshore Platform, of which Rumia Invest Park is a co-initiator.
The purpose of the signed Letter of Intent is to establish cooperation aimed at working out the principles and conditions for achieving benefits for the local labour market, local communities and for the companies of the GP Baltic Group – as a key participant in the supply chain (local content) in the offshore sector.
Agnieszka Rodak, president of Rumia Invest Park commenting on the event indicated that it is – ‘another step in the construction of the Pomeranian Centre of Competence for Offshore Renewable Energy, which aims to reduce the competence gap at secondary school level towards offshore wind energy professions and to support adult education.’
